And the Bridesmaids Wore Aubergine...

They're really wearing "plum," but doesn't aubergine sound so much better?

Sweetheart neckline, ruched, dropped-waist bodice - the Alvina Valenta dress looks absolutely stunning on them and I couldn't be happier.

Little by little, the details are falling into place for the wedding and I'm getting more excited as the days go by.

250 days to go!

Magical Gun

Last weekend, N and I spent a full day registering for wedding gifts. He was a real trooper even in the 6th hour when I was second guessing my dinnerware design for the third time.

We started off the day at Crate and Barrel's Wedding Party Event. It was quite possibly the best shopping experience of my life (and I've shopped...a lot). The store was chock full of newly engaged couples and the Crate and Barrel team gave each duo a "magical gun" that allowed us to scan all the items we wanted to add to our wish list. I mean, I was living a fantasy. Oh but wait, that's not it. They also set up demo stations to show off a few key products and handed our mimosas, paninis and homemade donuts. Can you say, BEST.DAY.EVER?

We also made our way to Macy's and Pottery Barn to round out the spree. I'm really excited to add the new finds to our home and I'm looking forward to the next 9 months leading up to the wedding!

Wedding Bliss

This weekend, I had the privilege of being a bridesmaid in my best friend's wedding. Let me just tell you, she was absolutely stunning. So stunning that I cried several times throughout the night because she looked that beautiful (or maybe it was because I had one too many glasses of wine during the cocktail hour, who knows). I have never seen her look so happy and I couldn't have been more thrilled to watch her marry the man of her dreams. From the gorgeous venue to the delicious food - including a make-your-own sundae bar (my personal highlight) - the night was flawless.

Love you, girl friend, he is one lucky guy!

In Need Of...

Cute, affordable dresses for the weddings, showers and bachelorette parties I have this summer. N and I have 5 weddings coming up - 5 people! I know that will be the norm for the next few years as our friends get married, but it's a lot to take on.

I recently bought this Elie Tahari dress at Marshall's. Do you see the retail price? I bought it for $100. Score! Do you think it's too dark for summer weddings? That was my concern, but for the price, I couldn't pass it up.

I'm now on the hunt for a few more bargains for the wedding season. I'm typically drawn to strapless dresses and I really like this dress from Anthropologie.

What do you think? For $170 it's not much of a steal, but is it worth it? I still have some time to decide and for the spring dresses to go on sale.

Please share links to your favorite dresses and any helpful hints of where to go for a bargain! My wallet will thank you :)

Another One Bites The Dust

And I'm absolutely thrilled. My best friend, my forever-valentine and the one who I've spent countless hours with imagining the men of our dreams, has finally found her Mr. Right and he popped the question this weekend. The bride and groom-to-be are glowing with happiness and I was just giddy to hear the news. So excited for a year of planning and preparing for the big day!

Much love to you both xoxo.

Family Affair

My cousin, one of my closest friends and my parter-in-crime as a child, got married last weekend (I wrote about his engagement last August). He was the first grandchild to get married and it was a really special day for the whole family. His bride and I have become friends over the years and I was honored to be included in their celebration as one of her bridesmaids.

They made a beautiful couple and the smile on my cousin's face at the altar said it all, he couldn't love her more. I wish them a lifetime of happiness and we're happy to welcome the lovely lady into our family.

Weddings and Babies Galore?

Is it just me or is everyone getting engaged, getting married or popping out kids? My news feed on Facebook is cluttered with congratulatory wall posts and countless albums of wedding ceremonies and new babies - one person, who will remain nameless, jumped right over the TMI line and announced her pregnancy to the world by taking a picture of her pregnancy test and using it as her default picture. Wow. You legit peed on that stick! But who's to say, maybe I'll be that baby crazy one day.

I'm a HUGE fan of both - weddings and babies - and I can't wait to experience both. But tell me, are they both suddenly on steriods?

N and I have two weddings this weekend and they just keep on coming. We'll be busy, but they're always an awesome time. Pictures to come.

The Newlyweds

I always knew she would be a beautiful bride, but she truly took our breath away. And I'd have to say that the bridal party wasn't that bad either :) The newlyweds make a gorgeous couple and I wish them a lifetime of happiness.

The wedding was an absolute blast. The food, the music, WENKER - and let's not forget the after party. Can't wait to see the pictures from Hawaii.

The Big Day Is Upon Us!

My best friend is getting married on Friday. Two days. Woah.

There are 4 of us that have been through it all together, the highs and the lows and everything in between, and I am thankful for each of them everyday.

Now, the little blonde has found the man of her dreams and they are about to start their life together - and I couldn't be happier. They make an amazing pair and I wish them only the VERY BEST.

I love you the most xoxo

BSue's Wedding

The weathermen were right. The day was humid and rainy (the worst combo for what I hoped to be a good hair day), but the wedding itself was breathtaking. Someone described B as angelic and that she was. She looked absolutely gorgeous and she and her hubby were glowing. All my love to both xo.

Angels - more to come:

Mermaid Wedding

Saturday was one of my best friend's bachelorette parties in Portsmouth, NH. It was a crazy 24 hours and I couldn't have asked for a better time or better people to be with.

I will give my best David Letterman Top 10 list of the festivities, but most will be personal jokes of the evening - here we go:

10. Anatomically correct penis cakes
9. The cigar roller - whoever tries this, report back
8. The dirty seagull - if a guy is reading this and knows what that is, shame on you
7. Ginger bean soup - this would not have been as funny if we weren't blacked-out
6. Tiger/Bruce/Hu G...
5. The virgin dance - no words, just a propelled bracelet
4. Dollar bill/picture game - one reason why the pictures of the night are horrifying
3. Alizé - straight up passion
2. A rediculous amount of mermaids
1. The running man turned into a swift kick to the balls - guy never saw it coming

Love you all, can't wait for the 26th!

Weddings Galore

It's official - my cousin and his girlfriend are ENGAGED! I've known for a few weeks and I've been having the hardest time keeping it a secret. He popped the question on Friday night and we celebrated all weekend - maybe I celebrated enough for the both of them, but hey, I'm excited.

AND I'm in the wedding!
