Do you tend to frequent the same restaurants? N and I always find ourselves falling back on old favorites. On Monday, we started a new tradition of trying out a new restaurant once a month. We kicked things off at Masa in Boston's South End and loved it. Our meals were devoured in no time at all and the sangria was the perfect way to end a hot summer day.
I also like to take advantage of Boston's Restaurant Week. This year, P.B.S., Frank and I have chosen to dine at The Fireplace in Brookline.
What's your favorite dinner spot in Boston? Hole-in-the-wall or upscale? Let me know, we'd love to add to our list.

Bakerella
I'm a huge fan of the blog, Bakerella. If you haven't read it yet, check it out.
I'm whipping up a batch of my own at the end of the month with a couple girl friends. I will share pictures if they look even half as scrumptious as the ones above. Wish me luck :)
Most of you know I'm a fanatic about cupcakes, but this blog shares a recipe for my newest obsession - cake balls. Just brilliant. Check out the red velvet cake balls.

Lollipop Fingers
I only get French manicures. Never a fun color, just French tips with OPI Sugar Daddy on top. Not because I'm scared of the endless wall of color choices at my nail salon, but because I have a fear that my fingers look like giant lollipops with colored nails. Long, skinny, pale fingers + bright, summery, fashion-forward color = LOLLIPOPS.

At dinner with Frank and P.B.S., I was admiring Frank's perfect pink nails, so I had to ask, "what color nail polish is that?" She let me know it was OPI Strawberry Margarita.
Yes, I'm crazy and went on the OPI site to see what it would look like with my skin tone. Doesn't look bad at all! Now, if you could just extend the length of the fingers on the digital hand we'd be in business. I've decided that I'm 25 and I'm going to embrace my lollipop fingers. I'm getting a manicure this afternoon and my mind is set on Strawberry Margarita.
Color vs. French? What is your favorite nail polish color?

Rain, Rain, Go Away
Current Boston weather: nothing but rain. It has rained every day this month and it's making me downright miserable. Not to mention my strong resemblance to a drowned rat when walking to and from the train. Either way, it doesn't make me a happy camper.
My family and I are heading to Ogunquit, ME next week and all I ask for is a glimpse of sunshine. I'm pretty much begging. I don't think I can take 7 days worth of board games and chick flicks (poor Dad).
The one perk to this wet mess is it gives you a perfect reason to wear awesome rain gear (I wish I had a pair):

Angels Reunite
And head to NYC! I've missed the girls way too much and we had a blast. It was a whirlwind, 24 hour tour. Here are a few highlights:

- Dinner at Son Cubano in the Meat Packing District (I highly recommend)
- Hotel Gansevoort roof-top bar
- The Brass Monkey - This was particularly awesome because it was the scene for the Bethenny/Kelly blow out on the Real Housewives
- Shopping on 5th Ave
- Strolling Central Park
- Taste testing the City's cupcakes - Magnolia vs. Crumbs - Magnolia won.
The laughs kept on coming especially at any reference of "the diaper." Looking forward to the next road trip.
P.S. Any guy looking to pick up a girl at a bar, please don't use the line, "My friends and I would really like to talk to you, we'll be right over here, just let us know if you're interested."Wednesday, June 3, 2009
Hail The Grillmasters
The summer is officially in full effect now that I've had my first Boca burger of the summer. And not just my first, but in the span of two weeks, I've probably had about 8. I really can't tell you how much I love food from the grill, but to save my taste buds from hating the barbecued goodness come August, I'm taking a short, and I mean short, break from eating them. Tell a lie, I'll probably have one this weekend.
Much love to my favorite grillmaster - Dad.
